I will never forget this night, I remember coming out of the ground and I saw the ambulance going in, we all thought that the Scotland keeper, who had been subbed was injured seriously enough to go to hospital. It was only when I phoned home to say I was on my way home, I was told of the awful news. The journey home seemed to last forever. I’m not a Celtic fan, but R.I.P big Jock, you were a true legend.

yes he knew, but took action against Torbett immediately by sacking him, more than the police ever did in terms of investigating the rumours about Torbett.

at least he died doing what he loved. apparently ferguson, who was the assistant manager at the time, broke down in tears on his way home after the match,

but what legacy he has left on the game

After the terrible Ibrox disaster Big Jock, on hearing about it, turned the Celtic bus around and went back and assisted with the injured Rangers fans and comforted others. He was spoken warmly by all associated with Rangers after.
Big Jock was a man of the people. Religion meant nothing to Big Jock and thats what pisses off the bigots! R.I.P Jock and Davie Cooper.
